in a non–competitive, relaxing camp environment in the beautiful Catskills mountains

Dear Frets & Refrains Community, 

We are excited to announce Frets & Refrains 2024! Our 12th annual Guitar and Songwriting Camp will be taking place as usual at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, in the picturesque setting of the Catskill Mountains. We have wonderful instructors lined up, with more to be announced, teaching all levels from beginner to expert. Accommodation is comfortable, the food is excellent, and you will learn enough to keep you nourished for the whole year! 

We will be following the best possible health guidelines for attendees and staff, and we look forward to another magical week of music.

MONDAY

  • 3-5:30PM: Camper check-in

  • 4:30-5:30PM: Meet the staff- Introductions, descriptions of classes, recommendations, advice, camp essentials and Q&A

  • 5:30-6:30PM:  Meet & Greet with served hors d'oeuvres and open bar in the Pavilion

  • 6:30: Gourmet Dinner in the Pavilion followed by a Welcome Performance

  • 9PM onwards: Song Circles

TUESDAY

  • 7:30-9:00AM: Buffet Breakfast

  • 9:30-10:45AM: Richard Thompson's Acoustic Guitar Master Class

  • 11:00-12:00PM: Morning Guitar, Songwriting and Singing Sessions

  • 12:00-1:30PM: Buffet Lunch, Open Mic Sign Up and Jack’s Merch Store

  • 1:30-2:30PM: Early Afternoon Guitar Session

  • 2:45-3:45PM: Afternoon Songwriting and Singing Sessions

  • 4-5PM: Late Afternoon Sessions with RT and Guest Counselors

  • 5:15-6:15PM: Zak Hobbs and Bobby Eichorn Workshops

  • 6:30-8PM: Gourmet Dinner in the Pavilion
